Carnival of Medievalism

For something you did out of boredom, it has a grim appeal to it, like a techno-gothic carnival with shoddy, run-down ferris wheels and haunted houses with shattered fun mirrors. It definitely sounds like a video game track, thematically consistent with this description. In a word: interesting.

The thought crossed my mind when I clicked, although I knew you from previous submissions to the portal and figured you made a decent rearrangement of Legend of Zelda music that could easily get on OCR or VGMix or a DoD competition.

In any case, this is psychedelic harshness with a story to tell, and the mastering of the sound is expertly done as usual. Good for you, and everyone else too.

Repetitive is Okay

Think outside the box. Several sections of a repetitive song can be made into game loops for an action game. Also, your "Bring the Pain", with Metaljonus' aid, became stellar and you considered it perfect after his tampering. If you think something sucks but still sounds okay, you're perfectly free when you call something a work-in-progress. Also, this song sounds ready for lyrics.

I'm fucking speechless. Even the piss-poor work is good. If you're worried about your main profile, why not port the questionable material to your other profile?

This song, should you know, is good. Trouble is near the end--it cuts too abruptly--but either a remake or a remastering, or a fade-out starting at 1:17, should remedy that.

agreed. I'm glad you dig this. I'm still looking for the original work file for this so I can fix it up. But yeah, I put play things in my other profile. Also, other genres that I make. Black-cloak-of-night is my other profile name. I hardly get visitors there, so pop by, there are some original riffs there and whatnot...even a remake of the "scatman" song. hahaha.

I've heard both the initial and the current version. This one is better vocalized and sounds far superior to the original. Few songs that people re-do can be considered a perfect improvement over its original (save DemonSlayer12's "Nightmare" songs). This thing ought to inspire someone to Collab and make a music video, it's that good. It sounds like a pro studio work, because it is, pro.

Grim and Good as is (Burtonian)

This stands by itself as excellent background music... very Burtonian in terms of being an instrumental. No vokills or additional tracks are necessary as it exists perfectly as a mood piece, particularly as part of a movie soundtrack. Again, the Audio Portal was originally designed for Flash developers in mind so they wouldn't have to pour so much licensed material into their submissions; fair use is the preferred way to go since, as a result of their efforts, the musicians also acquire some much-needed and well-deserved notoriety.

But put that aside and we have a nice, grim piece. I did, however, detect the volume levels as dissipating from the beginning to the end... just a little, nothing to kill its overall ambience and perhaps only to add to it. Like I said, this reminds me of some of Cliff Burton's material when his contributions made Metallica's early material so memorable. Consider that a compliment of the greatest caliber (though I'm always partial considering my dad used to play bass).

What an excellently detailed review! I kinda see the piece in the same way, as a depressing short instrumental. Eventually I would like to get some layers on it, just to heighten the ambience. And if this were to get used in a flash, I would be flattered. I do apologize for the volume levels. Chances are, I'm going to increase the volume a bit and repost it very soon. Mean as Fuck, but Quite True

Okay, now if you broke into the music industry, most of your gangsta ghetto spoofs would be on the B-Side as novelty songs... ON EACH AND EVERY ALBUM!

Little history behind these low-hanging jeans that are, in fact, an affront to tasteful fashion: in prison, they remove your belts and other long straps and shoelaces and everything that could lead to someone's baneful suicide via hanging or asphyxiation (or as weapons to subjugate guards or other prisoners). Hence, your pants, if you lose weight, will be low-hanging. When stories spread, the underclass adopted the look as contemporary street fashion, and presto. Anybody who knows the history behind certain ghetto fashions won't even have to pick on them via a funny novelty rap from who is obviously best-suited toward heavy metal. At least someone will consider making a music video out of this one....

And yeah, in addition to trying to rap on the first playback, I voted 5....
